Printer Version Page

Standing at an altitude of 7,161m from sea level and located in the Khumbu region of Nepal, Mount Pumori is one of the most challenging and rewarding peaks. Pumori Expedition is highly popular among those who wish to climb 7,000m peaks in the Himalayas of Nepal. In addition, it is an ideal platform for those wishing to summit Everest or other 8,000m peaks. Pumori Expedition offers one of the best views of mountains in the Everest region including Mount Everest.
The summit was first ascended by a German-Swiss expedition in 1964. Mount Pumori is summited via the standard route on the Southeast Ridge, which is regarded as a grade three snow and ice climb that requires a good understanding of alpine climbing techniques and familiarity with the effects of high altitude. The classic peak has generally three camps: Base Camp will be set up at 5,300m; from base camp, after 4 hours of climbing, climber will reach to the first camp at 5,700m; the second camp will be set up at 6,200m; and the third camp will be set up at 6,450m.
