Tamang Heritage trek is a newly opened popular trail in the Langtang region. The major attraction of this trek is an opportunity to explore and observe traditions and lifestyle of culturally rich Tamang communities who reside in the heart of Langtang region. The trail passes through traditional Tamang villages where lifestyle, culture and crafts have remained unchanged since the beginning of the settlement.  Warm traditional welcome hosted by the locals, their colorful costumes, rich architecture of their mountain houses, ancient monasteries and place of prayer add color to the experience of this trail. In addition to cultural experience, the trek also offers wilderness experience through beautiful landscape of alpine terrain, flat meadows, rhododendron forest and snow-capped peaks.  
 
The total duration of the trek is 11 days.

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu
Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, our Fishtail representative and driver will meet you at the Tribhuvan International Airport and escort you to your designated hotel. The representative will help you to check into your hotel. In the hotel, you will be briefed about your daily activities during the trek.
 
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley 
Kathmandu valley is the historical and cultural heart of Nepal and has been a popular destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its doors to visitors. The valley offers you a wonderful mix of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism and Western influence. In the morning, after breakfast, you will visit renowned and one of the largest Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath Stupa, and Swoyambhunath Stupa. After lunch, you will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square.
 
Day 03: Drive to Syabru Besi (1,440m)
Today you will proceed for Syabru Besi, which is 135km/9hrs drive from Kathmandu via Pasang Lamu highway. You will pass through several locations like Kakani (best known for panoramic view of great Himalayas of Nepal, hills and Kathmandu city itself), Trishuli Bazaar and Dhunche on the way. The route will be accompanied by magnificent views of mountains such as Annapurna, Langtang, Gaurishankar, Ganesh and Manaslu) and local villages.
 
Day 04: Trek to Gatlang (2,200m)
After an hour and half of ascent from Syabrubesi, you will reach a viewpoint from where you can witness the fantastic views of Ganesh Himal, Gosainkunda range and the Goljang valley. Continuing the trek, you will head to Goljang valley which is an hour of walking downhill from the viewpoint. Gatlang, the beautiful Tamang village is another three hours walk from Goljang. Upon arrival you will be welcomed by Khada (white scarf) and the home made local drinks accompanied by the welcome song in local language. Get refreshed and enjoy the local Syabru dance. 
 
Day 05: Trek to Tatopani (2,607m)
This day will be the longest day of the entire trip and will take about seven hours. The trek begins by descending to Thangbuchet (near Chilime village) by the Bhotekoshi River. Chilime Hydropower dam is also situated here. After lunch, the trail ascends crossing the hanging bridge. Your ascent will continue until you reach Tatopani, which literally means 'hot water'. You can emerge yourself in natural hot springs with bathing areas in the lap of the mountains. Locals believe that the waters have a healing power that eases away your aches and pains. 
 
Day 06: Trek to Thuman (2,400m) via Nagthali
From Tatopani, the trail ascends to Nagthali Danda - high open grassland with amazing views of snow covered Himalayas. After crossing Brimdang village, your trek will continue to Nagthali Danda. From there, the route turns downhill to Thuman village - Tibetan influenced Tamang village with friendly people.
 
Day 07:  Trek to Timure (1,762m) via Rasuwagadi  
Leaving Thuman, you will follow the path to get to Timure (an old trade route to Tibet), which takes approximately five hours. While trekking from Thuman to Timure, you can visit nearby historical Rasuwagadi and Tibeto  Burman on the way. 
 
Day 08: Trek to Briddim (2,229m)
Today the total journey will take about about six hours. In Briddim, you can enjoy the cultural show performed by Briddim communities. Besides, you can also experience Tamang home stay to learn more about their cultures and traditions. Briddim is mostly inhabited by immigrant Tibetans. Houses in Briddim are roofed by stones. 
 
Day 09: Trek to Syabru Besi (1,440m)
Today, the trail follows the descending path by crossing Wangel to get to Syabru Besi and it takes about 3 hours. 
 
Day 10: Drive Kathmandu
The journey end here and you will be driven to Kathmandu by following the same highway we took on our way to Syabru Besi during the beginning of the trek. The drive will take approximately 8 hours. 
 
Day 11: Depart Kathmandu 
After checking out of the hotel, our representative will take you to the international airport for your flight towards onward destination. If you want to continue your stay in Nepal for short tours i.e. National parks, rafting, mountain biking, hiking, etc., please do let us know. We will be proudly serving your needs.
