Everest Sherpa Village Trek is one of the classic treks in Everest region. The major attraction of the trek is traditional Sherpa villages (original inhabitants of the Khumbu/Everest region) where tourists and trekkers can study and explore socio-cultural aspects of the communities. Secondarily, trekkers will have wonderful opportunity to witness the wide ranges of snowcapped great Himalayas such as Everest (8,848m), the highest peak on the planet, Makalu (8,463m), Lhotse (8,501m), Cho Oyu (8,153m), Lhotse Shar (8,393m) and Ama Dablam. Several glaciers, rivers, lakes, beautiful forests and its flora and fauna, waterfalls, temples and monasteries will definitely escalate the joy during the trek.
 
This trek is considered to be moderate and covers various important places of Everest region like Lukla, Phakding, and Namche Bazaar. The trek will last for 12 days.

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu
Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, our Fishtail representative and driver will meet you at the Tribhuvan International Airport and escort you to your designated hotel. The representative will help you to check into your hotel. In the hotel, you will be briefed about your daily activities during the trek.
 
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley 
Kathmandu valley is the historical and cultural heart of Nepal and has been a popular destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its doors to visitors. The valley offers you a wonderful mix of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism and Western influence. In the morning, after breakfast, you will visit renowned and one of the largest Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath Stupa, and Swoyambhunath Stupa. After lunch, you will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square.
 
Day 03: Fly to Lukla (2,850m) and Trek to Phakding (2,610m)
In the early morning, you will board a flight to Lukla and a landing on a steep mountain runway brings you to the start of your trek at the village of Lukla (2,850m). Even during the entire flight, you can enjoy panoramic sights of great Himalayas of Nepal including Everest (8,848m), Makalu (8,463m), Cho Oyu (8,153m), Lhotse (8,501m), Lhotse Shar (8,393m), Kanchenjunga, Gaurishankar, Ganesh, Langtang etc. From Lukla, you will head up the Dudh Koshi Valley on a well-marked trail and will be accommodated in a local lodge in Phakding.
 
Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)
Leaving Phakding, you will be crossing the river twice through high suspension bridges and arrive at Monjo – the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park which was set-up in order to protect and preserve fragile mountainous environment. From here, you will follow the path to reach Namche, which is the major trading village in entire Khumbu region. If the weather is clear, you will get the first glimpse of Everest from this point.
 
Day 05: Rest day in Namche Bazaar
Today you will spend your entire day in Namche by taking complete rest in order to acclimatize to gain altitude, plan for forthcoming trips and get habituated to your trekking destinations. 
 
Day 06: Trek to Thame (3,820m)
Thame is a sprawling village with few lodges and offers stunning views of peaks like Thamserku, Kantenga, Kusum Kangguru, etc. Overlooking Thame is its famous Gompa situated amidst fields on a hill to the west. The Gompa has three big images of Chenresig (Avalokiteswara), Guru Rimpoche and Buddha Shakyamuni. Colorful Mani Rimdu festival featuring colorful mask dances is held in this Gompa in the month of May.
 
Day 07: Trek to Khumjung (3,790m)
Khumjung is another great Sherpa village where trekkers observe and explore the traditions and cultures of local communities. The village is the seat of Khumjung village development committee which include Khunde, Khumjung, Tyangboche, Pangboche, Pheriche, Dole, Machhermo, Lobuche, Dingboche, Gokyo and some small town , the valley is surrounded by the snowy peaks of Kongde and Thamserku. You can take a take a short hike up to the Khumjung monastery to view the yeti “scalp”.
 
Day 08: Trek to Phortse (3,590m)
Today you will proceed towards Phortse. Phortse is a unique Sherpa settlement of about 80 households situated at the buffer zone of Sagarmatha National Park. The village has been developed as a model ecotourism village with the aim of adding cultural aspect to the Everest experience.
 
Day 09: Trek to Pangboche (3,985m)
Today you need to walk downhill. Couple of hours of walk will take you to Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA). From there, you will continue the journey and pass Khumbu Khola, Imja Khola and the suspension bridge before arriving at Pangboche.
 
Day 10: Trek to Thyangboche (3,860m)
This day, from Pangboche, the trail follows the path to the side of the valley, high above the Dudh Koshi River.  You will get to see some great views of great peaks of the Khumbu region including, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam. As you move downwards, you will pass through several Sherpa villages and teashops. The path offers awesome sights of Rhododendron bushes with beautiful birds and superb mountain scenery. Finally, you will reach Thyangboche, which is famous for its legendary monastery, the largest in the Khumbu region.
 
Day 11: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)
From Thyangboche, your journey will continue towards Namche. The trail will take you across rivers and rhododendron forests amidst the views of Tawache, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Kantega and Thamserku mountains.
 
Day 12: Trek to Lukla (2,850m)
This will be the final day of the trek and the ultimate destination is Lukla. The path goes along the Dudh Koshi to reach Lukla. Upon reaching Lukla in the evening, you will have time to enjoy local drinks with a company of Sherpa guides and porters.
 
Day 13: Fly to Kathmandu
After breakfast, you will check in to the Lukla airport to fly back to Kathmandu. Upon reaching the Kathmandu airport, your guide will transfer you to the designated hotel. In the evening, you have free time for refreshments and shopping.
 
Day 14: Depart Kathmandu
After checking out of the hotel, our representative will take you to the international airport for your flight towards onward destination. If you want to continue your stay in Nepal for short tours i.e. National parks, rafting, mountain biking, hiking, etc., please do let us know. We will be proudly serving your needs.
