This trek has been named the Royal Trek after Prince Charles and his troupe of 90 persons explored the route in the early eighties. The Royal Trek is one of the short and soft treks that follow an easy trail exploring the foothills of Annapurna. The maximum ascent is 1,730 meters and thus, there is hardly any issue with acclimatization. This trek is basically designed for the beginners who have limited time and is also regarded as the platform for other grade of trails.
 
The Royal Trek provides excellent opportunities to experience cultural and geographical diversity of Nepal. The trek starts from the beautiful lakeside city of Pokhara and continues through traditional Gurung hamlets.  During the trek, one will be able to enjoy stunning views of landscapes, magnificent Himalayan ranges of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre and the Langtang. The trip finally ends at scenic Begnas Lake, which is about 30 km west from Pokhara City.
 
The total duration of the trek is 8 days. 
Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu 
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley 
Day 03: Fly/drive to Pokhara and Drive to Bijaypur and Trek to Kalikathan 
Day 04: Trek to Patle 
Day 05: Trek to Syaglung 
Day 06: Trek to Begnas Lake and Drive to Pokhara  
Day 07: Sightseeing in Pokhara and Fly/drive to Kathmandu

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu
Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, our Fishtail representative and driver will meet you at the Tribhuvan International Airport and escort you to your designated hotel. The representative will help you to check into your hotel. In the hotel, you will be briefed about your daily activities during the trek.
 
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley
Kathmandu valley is the historical and cultural heart of Nepal and has been a popular destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its doors to visitors. The valley offers you a wonderful mix of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism and Western influence. In the morning, after breakfast, you will visit renowned and one of the largest Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath Stupa, and Swoyambhunath Stupa. After lunch, you will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square.
 
Day 03: Fly/Drive to Pokhara and Drive to Bijaypur and Trek to Kalikathan (1,370m) 
This day will mark the beginning of your trek. In the early morning, after breakfast, you will be driven to Pokhara city, 200 km west from Kathmandu. It takes 5-6 hours on a tourist vehicle or you can take a flight as well. As soon as you will reach Pokhara, you will be driven to Bijaypur enjoying the backdrop of picturesque Annapurna Himalaya range and then trek for a while to reach Kalikathan.
 
Day 04: Trek to Patle (913m) 
The trek to Patle initially begins on a leveled path, but then descends through the evergreen forest of Okhare towards the village of Mastan Saurani. From here, you will move uphill to the village of Sundergaon, and then continue the journey descending towards the village of Patle. 
 
Day 05: Trek to Syaglung (1,730m) 
Today you will trek through the forest again descending towards the village of Ozangaun and then to the village of Lipyani. From there, you will be climbing uphill to Syaglung Danda, a typical Gurung settlement. Syaglung Danda offers splendid view of entire Lamjung Himal.
 
Day 06: Trek to Begnas Lake (884m) - Drive to Pokhara 
Continuing the journey, today you will trek downhill to Rupa Lake and then make an ascend of about 200 meters to arrive at Sundare Danda. After walking down for 15 minutes to Begnas Lake, you will enjoy an hour of boating and then catch the transfer to Pokhara. Upon arrival at Pokhara, you will check in into the hotel and can enjoy rest of the time exploring the lakeside.
 
Day 07: Sightseeing in Pokhara and Fly/drive to Kathmandu 
Pokhara is a globally renowned tourist destination for its natural beauty. Firstly, you will visit Fewa Lake where you can enjoy boating. If the weather is clear, you can see the reflection of Mount Machhapuchhre in the lake. The lake also houses Barahi Temple located in the middle of the lake. Other interesting destinations would be Devi’s Waterfall, Tibetan Refugee Settlement, Gupteshwor Cave, International Mountain Museum, and Bindabasini Temple. In the afternoon you will either take another flight to Kathmandu or will be driven to Kathmandu via tourist vehicle.
 
Day 08: Depart Kathmandu 
After checking out of the hotel, our representative will take you to the international airport for your flight towards onward destination. If you want to continue your stay in Nepal for short tours i.e. National parks, rafting, mountain biking, hiking, etc., please do let us know. We will be proudly serving your needs.
