Lobuche East Peak Climbing

Printer Version Page

Lobuche peak is an attractive and popular trekking destination located in the Khumbu/Everest region. There exist two distinct summits to the Lobuche peak: Lobuche East (6,119m) and Lobuche West (6,145m). Although these two summits are connected by a continuous ridge, there is a sharp gap and a considerable distance between them. Between the two summits, East is more popular than the other one as one can get magnificent glimpses of Mount Everest, Amadablam, Tawache etc.

Lobuche peak climbing offers a beautiful climb, however, with some technical challenges. Lobuche East Peak climb takes the trekkers into full adventurous heartland of the Khumbu region i.e., Everest Base Camp (5,357m), Kalapatthar (5,545m) etc. Furthermore the climb crosses two important high passes of the Khumbu region i.e. Chola Pass (5,420m) and Kongma La Pass (5,535m). The peak also offers wonderful opportunity to have magnificent close-up views of great Himalayas including five of the world’s highest mountains, i.e., Mount Everest (8,848m), Mount Makalu (8,463m), Mount Cho Oyu (8153m), Mount Lhotse (8,501m) and Mount Lhotse Shar (8,393m).
