Mount Everest- in Tibetan QOMOLANGMA was first recognized as the world's tallest peak in 1984. The stunning scenery in Everest region has been acclaimed since the first British expeditions attempted to climb Mount Everest in the 1920s. With the advent of the tourism and trekking in China during the early 1980s, Rongbuck Monastery and the nearby base camp became Tibet's most popular trekking destination. The best time for tour & trekking to Mount Everest is generally between May to October.

We offer 10 Days Tibet Overland with EBC “drive-in & fly-out” program for people who wish to realize their aspiration for a tour & trekking around the world's highest peak QOMOLANGMA.

DAY 01: KATHMANDU
On arrival at Kathmandu International airport our representative welcome you and transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 02: KATHMANDU / NYALAM (3600M) -154kms.           
Early morning at 5:30 am Drive to Kodari, Nepal /China border. After an approx. 5 hours drive we reach Kodari and complete custom formalities. We further drive 30 min. for Zhangmu, where we have to again complete Immigration formalities with Chinese authorities. After the immigration we continue our journey to Nyalam. The road follows along the Bhote Koshi river in the deep valley with plenty of waterfalls. Overnight  at guest house.

DAY 03: NYALAM / XEGAR-4200m
After morning breakfast drive to Xegar via Lalung La (5050m) pass from where you will see the beautiful of view of Mt. Langtang (7245m) , Mt. Shishapangma (8013m), Mt.  Dorje Lakpa (6980m) , Mt. Makalu (8464m), Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Lhotse (8516m), & Mt. Cho Oyu (8201m). Arrive Xegar and check into the guesthouse.

DAY 04: XEGAR / RONGBUCK-4980m
From Shegar, the Everest access road turns off the Friendship Highway about five km west of Xegar check point and climbs its way 63 km to Rongbuk Monastery and on to base camp.  Although there can be noticed the ruins of several monastic settlements in the area, only Rongbuk Monastery is there at present which was built by Nyingmapa Lama and established in 1902. Perhaps not of great antiquity, it can at least lay claim to being the highest monastery in the world, at 4980 meters. Local people say there were some 500 monks and nuns but now the number is only 16. Accommodation and very basic food are available at the monastery. The rooms are comfortable, heated with stoves. Arrive Rongbuck & check into the guest house/camp.
 
DAY 05: RONGBUCK / Everest Base Camp / XEGAR-4200m
Drive to Everest Base Camp from Rongbuck Monastery. The base camp is a dry and barren place. The spectacular view of Mt Everest in seen from camp one. The base camp is in an altitude of 5200m. ASL. There is building for rest.  On a small hill to the left of the base camp there is a memory site who lost their lives on the mountain. The climbing rout is longer (9camps0 than from Nepal (4camps). After a short rest and refreshment drive to to Xegar. Overnight at guesthouse/ camp.

DAY 06: XEGAR / XIGATSE-3900m
After breakfast drive to Xigatse. If the road condition is good we will visit Sakya Monastery. Sakya is one of the oldest and most important monasteries. Arrive Xigatse, the place of the famous Tashilumpo Monastery, the seat of Panchen Lama until his death in 1989. The huge Thanka wall is Cleary visible on north side of the road. Overnight at guest house/hotel/ camp.

DAY 07: XIGATSE / GYANTSE (3950m) - 90km.                   
After breakfast visit TASHILUNPO MONASTERY including the Bazaar of XIGATSE and continue drive to GYANTSE.  Gyantse is small beautiful historical town. It lies 264 km Southwest of Lhasa on the northern bank of NYANG CHU River. In the 15th century it had served as the capital of a small Kingdom. Visit KUMBUM CHORTEN & PHKLKOR MONASTERY which was built around 1400 AD & later it became the main center for trade with British / India. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 08: GYANTSE / LHASA (3650M) - 260km.                       
After breakfast drive to Lhasa crossing the KAROLA PASS (5010m) and KAMBALA PASS (4794m). The KAROLA climbs between two lofty mountains, NOZING KHANGSA (7223m) and RALUNG (6236m). You will see the beautiful YAMDROK TSO (Turquoise Lake), which takes approx. 1hr to cross. After passing KAMBALA, Lhasa valley is seen to the north. You will also cross the Brahmaputra River. Arrive Lasha after approx 8 hours drive & check into the hotel.

DAY 09: LHASA TOUR
Lhasa full day sight seeing tour covering the Magnificent Potala, the winter palace of the Dalai Lama; the place where the former great Dalai Lama's stupas are being kept; once the seat of the Tibetan government. It has a history of over 1,300 years. The Potala Palace is the treasure of Tibetan religion and culture, where many figures of the Buddha, murals, sutras etc have been preserved. After visiting Potala Palace, you will visit one of the three largest monasteries of Gelugpa, the Sera Monastery, Dalai Lama's summer palace and the treasure Park of Tibet, the Norbulingka. After the day's sightseeing tour, you will also be offered an insight tour into the daily life of the Tibetan people, their living style and traditions, you will be served tea in their home. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 10: LHASA TOUR
In the morning, you will visit the No. 1 Monastery of Gelugpa, Drepung Monastery, which is the richest monastery ever in Tibet and is still active. Then you will be guided to visit the spiritual center of Tibet, the Jokhang Temple, where you may meet many monks, who may be prostrating with full length to the threshold of the monastery. You will alsd visit the sacred pilgrim path, the oldest street in Lhasa, the Barkhor Street, where Tibetan culture, economy, religion and arts assembled.
In the afternoon, you can pay a visit to the Tibetan Traditional Hospital, where you will see how the Tibetan doctors treat patients in their traditional ways, and its library. In the library you will find massive medical sutras and medical Thankas. The Lhasa Carpet Factory is also a site you should not miss. The carpets are hand-made in traditional style. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 11: LHASA / KATHMANDU
After breakfast drive to airport for flight to Kathmandu .Our representative will assist you to complete all the formalities.  It is about 55 min to reach Kathmandu. During Lasha/ Kathmandu flight you can see the best view of MT. KANCHANJUNGA (8586m), MT. MAKALU (8463m) and MT. EVEREST (8848m). On arrival at Kathmandu airport our representative will receive you and Transfer to your hotel.
                   
DAY 12: KATHMANDU
After breakfast leave for half- day Kathmandu sightseeing tour covering Pashupatinath temple, Boudhanah stupa and Swoyambhunath stupa. Return to hotel, rest of the day free to explore Kathmandu and shopping

DAY11: DEPARTURE
Free time until your departure transfer to airport for your onward journey.
