Introduction on Tour
A fascinating journey into the Rajputana desertland with gala desert camping and Royal Palace hotels. Highlights : Camel cum balloon safari.
DAY 01: ARRIVAL DELHI
Arrive at IGI Airport in New Delhi. Be welcomed and received by our office’s representative and transferred to hotel. After check into hotel you will be briefed on tour program. Balance of the day is at your leisure. Overnight at hotel in Delhi.
DAY 2: DELHI / MANDAWA
Drive to Mandawa – 5 1/2 hrs, arriving by lunch. Check into the Mandawa Desert Resort. Post lunch explore the village to see the havelis and their frescoes and architecture. Evening cocktails at the Castle Mandawa. Overnight Mandawa.
DAY 3: CAMEL SAFARI
Proceed on an interesting camel cum balloon safari with groups interchanging between the two interesting and offbeat modes of exploring the desert (total 5 to 6 hrs. of camel ride / ballooning). Arrive at the desert camp located near a sand dune. Enjoy a camp fire and watch local folk dancers / musicians perform. An Arabian theme / village theme dinner can be optionally arranged. Overnight camp.
DAY 4: SAMODE
After breakfast visit the Roopangarh palace and the Mukandgarh fort palace. Later drive to Samode. Ride decorated camel carts through the cobbled streets of Samode village. Gala royal welcome at the palace by village belles showering rose petals as you climb the grand stairs up the lobby. After check - in proceed to the Sheesh Mahal for cocktails hosted by the Royal family, subject to their being in town followed by gala dinner at the durbar hall.
DAY 5 : SAMODE / JAIPUR
After a leisurely breakfast explore this beautiful palace and the fort close by. Later drive down / camel ride to the royal orchards 4 kms. away. Check into the palace hotel. Evening proceed on a guided tour of the Pink city including the City Palace, Observatory and the Palace of Winds. Overnight Jaipur.
DAY 6 : JAIPUR / DAMDAMA
After breakfast visit Amber fort on elephant back. Later drive down to Damdama lakeside Swiss camp and resort. Explore the lake in row boats / canoes, and observe a variety of bird / wildlife. Evening bonfire and bar-be-que. Overnight Swiss camp / resort.
DAY 7 : DRIVE DAMDAMA - DELHI
Today after breakfast , morning free for boating / fishing / sailing at the lakeside. Then drive towards Delhi and arrive in Delhi by the first hour of afternoon.
