Bhutan,
the mythical land of the Thunder Dragon is perhaps the best
kept secret of the Himalayas. The impenetrable wall of Himalayan
peaks to the north and deep jungle gorges to the south have
served to keep this tiny nation in relative isolation for
thousands of years and it remains much as it was countless
centuries ago. Every year travelers are drawn to Bhutan
to view the masked dance festivals. Experience the deeply
religious and spiritual heritage, or trek the magnificent
wilderness. One of the world's last unspoiled frontiers,
Bhutan provides balance for movement and peace, sound and
stillness you will find yourself in a truly exceptional place
on earth.
More about Bhutan; Bhutan often revered as the "Land
of the
Peaceful Dragon" is still regarded as one of the last
Shangrilas in the Himalaya region because of it's remoteness
it's spectacular mountain terrain, varied flora and fauna
and it's unique ancient Buddhist monasteries. It is one of
the relatively unexplored hidden pockets of Asia which allows
only limited number of discerning travelers to enter the country
with a special visa permits.
Festivals (Tschechus) are held in Bhutan throughout
the year at different locations. These festivals are celebration
of faith, legends,
myths and history of Bhutanese in ancient rituals of colorful
dance
and music. To co-inside a visit to Bhutan during the festive
season would be an added bonus and even better way to observe
the unique culture and tradition of mankind.
